QUARKUS ACADEMY

Quarkus Academy enables individuals in different communities by providing training in product design and development, product pricing, and values formation.

Our approach to training is personal.  We try to understand the communities and assess their needs, before we create the appropriate module for them.  Our trainors consist of teachers, artists and artisans who are one with us in reaching out to communities for the purpose of empowerment.

Quarkus Academy offers the following trainings:

PARTNERSHIP WITH NOTADAYDREAM MANILA

In 2017, Quarkus partnered with NotADaydream Manila, with the common goal of empowering mothers in Tondo.  The social enterprise founded by Martha Westpalm Van Hoorn needed a technical partner to help them with product design, prototype making and skills training.  Through the partnership, we were able to create the first collection of NotaDaydream beach bags and pouches, and train mothers in Bless the Children Foundation and Purple Centers Foundation.  This enabled the mothers, who otherwise would have had to deal with project based work, to have a stable source of livelihood.  A continuing success story, NotADaydream Manila earned recognition as finalist at the 2020 Independent Handbag Designer Awards.
